Here are more games for your trip.  Have fun!  (These are also in the "Games" section of this site.)

A Was An Apple Pie
Players: 3 or More
Objective: Make Up Sentences for Each Letter of the Alphabet
Materials: Imagination

The first player begins by making up a sentence with the letter A, such as, ”A was an Apple Pie.”  The second player continues the story using the letter B. For example, “B baked it.”  The next player adds another line of the story using “C”.  If a player takes too long he/she is eliminated.  The last remaining player wins.

Buzz
Players:  2 or More
Objective: Count Using “Buzz” in Place of Certain Numbers
Materials: None

Players sit in a circle as the first player begins counting with “One”.  The second player says “two”, and so forth.  Every time a player reaches a number with a seven in it (7,17, 27, 37, etc.), or divisible by seven (7, 14, 21, 28, etc.), she/he must say “buzz” instead of the number.  Any player that says the number instead of buzz, is out of the circle.  The last player left is the winner.

To make it more challenging, play the same rules as above, but when the players come to five and its multiples they say “fizz”.

I Met an Old Lady with an “A”
Players:  3 or more
Objective: Make Up Sentences
Materials: None

Players use a letter to tell the lady’s name, where she is from, what she brought, and make a descriptive word.  The game starts with the letter "A" then works through the alphabet.

For example, the first player might say, “I met an old lady with an “A”.  Her name was Ann and she came from Allendale with an apple for Alice.”  The second player might say, “I met a beautiful old lady named Bridget with a B.  She lived in Bergen County and brought baked beans for Bob.”  The next player uses the letter “C”.  Players drop out when they can not think of a word within a fair amount of time.  The winner is the last remaining player.

Ghost
Players:   2 to 4
Objective: Avoid Spelling Out a Word
Materials: None

The game begins with one player saying a letter out loud.  The next player adds a letter thinking of a word that begins with these two letters.  Each player in turn adds a letter as long as the new letter continues a word without completing a word.

Any player can challenge a letter if it doesn’t sound like it could form a word.  If a player cannot name a word that begins with the word chain that includes his/her letter, then he/she becomes a ghost, and is out of the game.

For example, the first player might say "S", the second "C", and the third "H", forming the word SCHOOL.  If the next player adds “T”, another player could challenge that person.  The player becomes a ghost because there is no word which begins “S-C-H-T”.

If a player adds a letter that completes a word, he/she becomes a ghost and is out of the game.  For example, if the first letters are S-A-N, and the next player says “D”, thinking of "SANDWICH", he becomes a ghost because "SAND" is a word.

Geography
Players:  2 or More
Objective: Use the Last Letter of a Word to Form a New Word
Materials: None

The first player gives the name of a city, state, country, body of water, etc. The next player must say the name of a place using the last letter of the previous word.  For example, if the first person says "Ridgewood", the second player could say "Dallas", and the next might say "San Francisco".  Any player repeating another person’s word or taking an unfair length of time to respond is out.  The last remaining player wins.
