Thimble, Thimble Where’s the Thimble? 
Players:  3 or More
Objective: Find a Small Object
Supplies: Thimble, or Other Small Object

 

One person is selected to hide the thimble (or other small object).  All other players leave the room or close their eyes while the thimble is put in a place where it can be seen, but not easily.  The players return to the room or open their eyes and the game begins.  When players find the thimble, they sit down quietly.  The last person to find the thimble is out of the game. The first person to spot the thimble hides it in the next round. The last person remaining wins the game. 

 


Hula Hoop Hopscotch  
Players:  2 or More
Objective: Develop Balance as Hop through Course
Supplies: Hula hoops, or anything else which could be used to make 
     circles
One stuffed animal

 

Make hopscotch pattern using rings or other objects.  Toss a stuffed animal in one of the circles.  Players hop on alternate feet through the circles without stepping on the animal or the rings.  At the end, they turn around, hop back, and pick up the stuffed animal on the way.  If a player misses or steps on a ring, then the next player goes.

 


Pirate Treasure Hunt 
Players:  Any Number
Objective: Hide a Treasure & Draw Map to Find It
Supplies: Blank Paper
Pencil or Pen
"Treasure" to Hide

 

Children hide a “treasure” either inside or outside the house, then draw a map for you to find it.  To make it more fun, let the children dress up as pirates.


 

Home Shopping Network
Players:  Any Number
Objective: Pretend to be Store Owner or Shopper
Supplies: Money
Pencil or Pen
Paper of Price Tags

 

Create price tags for items for sale in your home and use real or pretend money to buy the merchandise.  Take turns being the Cashier and Shopper.  Let children make up price tags.
