Peanut Butter Bird Feeder
Supplies: Pine Cones
Pipe Cleaner
Craft Sticks (optional)
Bird Seed
Peanut Butter
Newspaper

Spread newspapers on table and attach pipe cleaner to pine cone.  Using the craft stick or a knife, spread peanut butter on  pine cone, then roll in birdseed.  Attach to a tree branch with pipe cleaner and watch birds eat the seed.  When they have eaten it all, you can do it again!

Flower Coloring

Supplies: Vase
Long Stem White Flowers (Queen Anne's Lace, Daisies,
      or Carnations)
Food Coloring
Water

Snip off ends of flower stems.  Put water and flowers in vase, add food coloring.  Within 12 hours the flowers will turn the color of the food coloring.  Each day make a fresh cut.  Over the next few days the color will become more pronounced.  Experiment with different colors or mixing colors together and see what happens.

Seasons Dial
Supplies: White Paper Plate
Construction Paper
Magic Markers
Gold Fasteners
Ruler or Straight Edge

Using the straight edge and magic markers, divide the plate into four equal pie shaped sections.  Draw a leafless tree in each section and label with the names of the seasons (tip: write season near rim of plate).  Your child then "dresses" each season's tree with the appropriate leaves.  Spring receives small green dots, summer large green dots, fall is brown, yellow and green colored dots, and winter has no dots.  Draw and cut out an arrow from the construction paper (tip: stem of arrow should be at least 1/2" wide) and attach to the center of the plate with a gold fastener.  Attach to refrigerator door or child's wall.  Your child learns the seasons as he/she moves the arrow around the dial.

Balloon Boat
Supplies: 1 Styrofoam plate or try
1 round balloon
Pencil

Using a pencil, make a hole through the center of the Styrofoam plate.  Push the lip of the balloon through the hole.  From the back of the plate, blow up the balloon.  Knot the end of the balloon and you’re ready to float it away in a pool or a lake.  Try making several balloon boats and race them by blowing on them.
